Dark Deity is a strategy RPG with a large cast of playable characters and an expansive, original story. Its orchestral score strikes a compelling balance between high-fantasy grandiosity and heart-enveloping intimacy. Recognizable, recurring themes help tie the character arcs and story together. Dark Deity launched in June 2021. Download the game (for PC or Nintendo Switch), check out the OST on Steam, and listen to my pieces on YouTube!

Captain Contraband is an upcoming action rogue-lite that takes place on the high seas. It features a bombastic soundtrack that takes an ominous, spooky twist on traditional sea shanties. Immersive, interactive techniques such as layered instruments and seamless crossfading are heavily explored to portray motion within the game world. Captain Contraband sails into Early Access this year!

Out of Beer is a short, difficult, and self-developed action platformer in which the player character, Mavik the badger, has to replenish his beer supply by picking up cans and bottles of craft beer scattered throughout three treacherous levels. Being that I did the game design, programming, and music myself, I was able to dial in and fully realize the feel and atmosphere of each level in my eclectic soundtrack for the game. Download Out of Beer on itch.io (playable on macOS)!

Fantasy Detectives in a Modern World is a mystery adventure with puzzles inspired by visual novels and escape rooms. Its music is being crafted to strengthen its vast atmospheres while promoting deep, critical thinking. The project is currently in its early stages of development.

Services

I can compose the soundtrack for your upcoming game in a large variety of styles, ranging from emotionally intimate to spine-chillingly epic. And everything in-between. I offer an end-to-end scoring service, including prep for interactive implementation (looping, layering, branching, etc.) as well as in-engine mixing (in Unity) and audio consultation/guidance.

My rates are flexible and tailored based on a large number of factors such as complexity, timescale, and licensing requirements. I only sign onto projects that I sincerely believe I can deliver the most spectacular results.

About Me

I'm Andy, the music composer behind Soaring Soundworks. Based in San Francisco, I do all of my composing, recording, and mixing in-house. Much of my upbringing was spent creating narrative-centric electronic music, juggling classical cello with rock guitar, and endlessly wandering around Hyrule and the Johto region.

I seek to help tell stories, small or large, as effectively as I can. My compositional philosphy is centered around painstakingly crafted leitmotifs and the ebb and flow of emotions. As a result, the music that I create for your game will be evocative and memorable.
